Washington Middle School in lockdown following threats

Just got a call from my son at Washington. They are releasing students in this order:

* Yellow buses
* Walkers
* Metro riders

At this time, they are still letting yellow bus students go, so I suspect it will be some time before metro kids are headed home.

i go to washington middle school and just after the end of the day bell rang we were told to get to the nearest classroom but preferably our 6th period class. When they finally started calling buses which was about and hour after school let out they had us line up in the hall and be silent. Then we were escorted outside by a man with a huge gun. None of the teachers knew anything and the students did not either so it was really scary to see police with guns and so many cop cars. I just hope they find the man or person so we can go back to school safely.

the teachers were going crazy sending everybody theyre attendance and the children that were missing (probably left) my 6th period teacher was Ms.Hansen in Portable 2 and you werent allowed to go out to the portables. Thank goodnes the MLK assembly is canceled tomorrow

i go to washington, the girls bball team was at an away game and we got all these texts from people who were freaking out saying 'were in lockdown someone is shooting!!!' it was so freaky...apparently some kids were there until almost 5:30!! i really hope they catch that guy... theres a video on kirotv.com and there was police w/ a machine gun omigod

ok, first of all i would like to point out that it was not actually a lockdown, but only a shelter in place. This is my mom's account, but I am also a student at Washington Middle School, so fyi, this is legit info. it wasn't even that scary! We basically just figured out exactly how boring our school was. I mean, one of the biggest problems was figuring out how exactly to keep all twelve hundred of us relatively contained. I mean, some people got to listen to ipods, text, and call other people. This was actually a really good move on the administration's side, because believe it or not, kids aren't exactly jumping off the walls while they text! All in all, I think this was only a little nerve-wracking because no one even told us what was happening. Other than that, not super scary.

Okay actually none of it was a "Lock down " but a "shelter in place" and the thing about the swat team and everything it wasn't such a big of a deal the whole this was a hoax and no student ( yes i am a student) were actually hurt during this. and people need to stop makeing this such a big deal when it really wasn't at all.

Wassup I Go To WMS (lame school btw. no offense)and omg it was CRAZY!! i was jus leavin da buildin n then two of my friends come RUNNING like crazy back towards the school and yellin bout a shoot out. so i went back to my 6th period class, which happened to be gym, and we waited for evverrr. but the teacher let us use cells after a while so i called up my mom who really freaked out and yeah...but it was kinda fun, actually. after the panic and confusion bout goin back to class
