I usually attend and believe that the the scheduling conflict with Barack Obama's acceptance speech at the Democratic Convention that same evening is unfortunate. I know we are nonpartisan--a given, and that this change to the normal meeting date was announced sometime ago. Nonetheless it will b broadcast during the same time and there are a number of events of interest to many in the community planned for that evening.

I do not think these meetings are a waste but a united message is always helpful, along with communications to the mayor and city council.

I am sorry to miss the meeting this month.
